The Roméo Dallaire Chair on Civil Conflicts and Sustainable Peace, named in honor of Lieutenant-General Roméo Dallaire, a prominent human rights advocate and staunch promoter of the prevention of mass atrocities, positions itself as a hub in the landscape of research and knowledge dissemination in French on civil conflicts and the promotion of sustainable peace. Drawing inspiration from Lieutenant-General Dallaire's remarkable career, notably his involvement in the peacekeeping mission in Rwanda and the prevention of child soldiers, the Chair aims to perpetuate his legacy by working on awareness, analysis, and the proposal of innovative solutions to prevent and resolve conflicts.
